Tenant Gets Extra Time to Correct Lease Violation

LVT Number: 9505

Landlord sued to evict tenant for violating his lease by replacing metal kitchen cabinets with wooden ones. An appeals court ruled for landlord, but gave tenant a chance to correct the condition by reinstalling the original cabinets. The court gave landlord 20 days to make the original cabinets available to tenant, and ordered tenant to reinstall them within 10 days after that. Landlord later claimed that tenant hadn't corrected the problem and asked the court to order tenant's eviction. Both the court and the appeals court gave tenant more time to fix the lease violation.
