Tenant Claims Retaliatory Eviction

LVT Number: 18937

Landlord sued to evict unregulated tenant after tenant's lease ended. Tenant claimed retaliatory eviction. Tenant also pointed out that the building had no multiple dwelling registration statement. Tenant asked the court to dismiss the case. The court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Landlord showed that it wasn't retaliating against tenant for any reason. And the absence of an MDR statement didn't bar landlord from evicting tenant.
