Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Tenant didn't answer the petition or appear in court. The court granted landlord a default judgment. Tenant then asked the court to vacate the judgment. The court ruled against tenant. Tenant appealed and lost. Tenant didn't show a reasonable excuse for his default or a meritorious defense to the nonpayment claim.
