Tenant Can Be Evicted for Illegal Drug Activity

LVT Number: #23608

Landlord sued to evict tenant for allowing illegal drug activities at her apartment. The trial court ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. Tenant claimed for the first time that landlord's court papers weren't delivered properly and that the petition was defective. It was too late to raise these claims. In addition, tenant didn't challenge on appeal any of the trial court's findings of fact in support of its ruling that tenant allowed the drug activity to go on.
