Tenant Bound by Terms of Prior Settlement of Garage Rent Issue

LVT Number: #25776

Rent-stabilized tenant complained of rent overcharge in connection with her garage space. The DRA ruled against tenant, who appealed and lost. In 2006, landlord had asked the DHCR to adjust the legal regulated garage rents of tenants in the building. Tenants and landlord signed a settlement agreement, approved by the DHCR, which called for tenant to pay a $100 per month increase to her $50 garage rent. A final DHCR order in connection with that settlement noted that tenants were bound by its terms.
