Soapsuds Back Up in Sink

LVT Number: 17511

Tenant complained of a reduction in services because soapsuds backed up into her kitchen sink. The DRA ruled against tenant and dismissed the complaint because this was a minor condition. Tenant appealed and lost. An inspection showed that tenant washed clothes in the kitchen sink and let dish soap and detergent drain from the left sink. So there was a minor backup of soapsuds into the right sink of about half an inch. There was also a check valve to prevent backups on the sink. The DRA properly found that this condition was minor.
