Skylight Work and Asbestos Removal Were Related to Roof Installation

Landlord applied for MCI rent hikes based on the installation of a new roof and engineering costs. The DHCR ruled for landlord. Tenant appealed and lost. The DRA properly included the cost of pointing, lintels, and a skylight as other necessary work done in connection with and directly related to the roof. Landlord also properly documented related asbestos removal related to the roof. An asbestos report was submitted by a certified asbestos investigator, and landlord was entitled to the actual cost of the work.
