Settlement Agreement Didn't Provide for Fees

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. Landlord and tenant signed a settlement agreement in court. Landlord later asked the court for an award of attorney's fees. The court ruled against landlord. Landlord appealed and lost. There was no provision for attorney's fees in the settlement agreement. And there was no lease in the court record showing that landlord was entitled to attorney's fees.
