Second Entry Door Removal Wasn't Done in Workmanlike Manner

LVT Number: #27292

Rent-stabilized tenant complained of a reduction in services based on work done when her second apartment entrance door was removed. The DRA ruled for tenant and reduced her rent. Landlord appealed and lost. The rent reduction wasn’t based on elimination of the door. Inspection showed that a Sheetrock wall was installed in place of the door but wasn’t finished or painted to match pre-existing conditions. The rent reduction was properly based on the fact that the newly installed wall wasn’t finished.
