Rent Reduced for Large Hole in Bathroom Ceiling

LVT Number: #24777

Rent-stabilized tenant complained of a reduction in services. The DRA ruled for tenant and reduced her rent. Landlord appealed and lost. Landlord claimed that tenant refused to cooperate with landlord's attempts to make repairs. But landlord didn't present proof supporting this claim. And the DHCR's inspector found a hole in tenant's bathroom ceiling measuring 4 feet by 2 feet, along with leak stains on the bathroom wall. The rent reduction therefore was warranted.
