Rent Demand Didn't Include Credit

LVT Number: 11449

Landlord sued 12 tenants for nonpayment of rent. Tenants claimed that landlord's three-day rent demands were defective. Tenants had previously sued landlord to get repairs. In a court-ordered stipulation signed before landlord sent the rent demands, tenants were given rent credits ranging from $50 to $250. These credits weren't included in landlord's demands for back rent owed. The court ruled for tenants and dismissed the petitions. Landlord's rent demands were defective because they didn't take into account the rent credits.
