Renewal Lease Offered to Rent-Stabilized Tenant with HPD Section 8 Addendum Was Valid

LVT Number: #30439

Rent-stabilized tenant complained that landlord failed to offer her a valid renewal lease. The DRA ruled against tenant, finding that landlord and tenant had executed a valid renewal lease before tenant filed her complaint. Tenant appealed and won, in part. The renewal lease in question was signed after tenant filed her complaint but was still valid. Tenant's claim that the lease was signed under duress was unfounded. The renewal lease offered correctly included all necessary riders, including an HPD addendum because tenant received Section 8 benefits.
