Public Housing Tenant Evicted for Drug Activity

LVT Number: 18234

Landlord sued to evict tenant for illegal drug activity in the apartment. Tenant asked the court to dismiss the case. He claimed that he was entrapped by the police and that he didn't know there were drugs in the apartment. The court ruled for landlord. There was substantial evidence of drug-related activity in the apartment, and tenant's testimony wasn't credible. Using a search warrant in tenant's apartment, the police had recovered a large amount of marijuana, over $7,000 in cash, and two handguns.
