Proving Electronic Payment to Vendors

LVT Number: 17681

(DHCR Opinion Letter submitted by Alan D. Kucker of the Manhattan law firm of Kucker & Bruh, LLP, attorneys for the landlord.) Landlord made electronic payments to its vendors. Landlord asked the DHCR if it would accept proof of electronic payment in cases where, traditionally, landlords had to submit copies of cancelled checks to prove payments for apartment improvements. In an opinion letter, the DHCR said yes. However, the degree of proof of an electronic payment must be at least equal to the degree of proof otherwise required by cancelled check.
