Occupant Wasn't Tenant

LVT Number: 14489

Landlord sued to evict apartment occupant after the tenancy of rent-stabilized tenants in the apartment had ended. Occupant claimed that he was a tenant in his own right. The court ruled for landlord. Occupant appealed and lost. There was no proof that prior landlord had accepted occupant as a tenant. He was merely a licensee of prior tenants.
