Notice to Quit Gave Enough Information

LVT Number: 18175

Landlord sued to evict apartment occupant after tenant moved out. Before starting the eviction case, landlord sent occupant a notice to quit. The notice stated that landlord was terminating occupant's occupancy of the apartment because she lived there without legal authority or landlord's permission. Occupant claimed that this notice was insufficient and asked the court to dismiss the case. The court ruled against occupant. The notice told occupant that landlord didn't consider her a tenant and didn't give her permission to occupy the apartment.
