Nonrenewal Notice Didn't Give Enough Information

LVT Number: 18685

Landlord sued to evict rent-stabilized tenant for owner occupancy purposes. Tenant claimed that landlord's nonrenewal notice was insufficient because it didn't state facts upon which landlord based its claim. The court ruled for tenant and dismissed the case. Landlord appealed and lost. Landlord merely stated that he had a good-faith intent to live in the apartment as his permanent residence. The Rent Stabilization Code requires landlord's nonrenewal notice to be more specific.
