Mistake on Building Registration

LVT Number: 14152

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. In the petition, landlord stated that the managing agent named on the Multiple Dwelling Registration (MDR) statement was a corporation. Tenant asked the court to dismiss the case, pointing out that the Multiple Dwelling Law requires the managing agent to be an individual person. Landlord claimed that the information in the petition was a mistake and that the MDR on file named an individual managing agent. Landlord asked for permission to amend the petition. The court ruled for landlord.
