Landlord Replaced Carpet

LVT Number: 9184

The DRA reduced Glen Cove, Long Island, tenants' rent, based on defective carpeting in the common areas of the building. Landlord applied to restore the rent, claiming that it had installed new carpeting. The DRA granted landlord's application, and tenants appealed. They argued that the work hadn't been completed satisfactorily. A DHCR inspector found that landlord had corrected the defects, and the DHCR ruled for landlord. Landlord had replaced the defective carpeting.
