Landlord Removed Snow from Sidewalk

LVT Number: #23479

DOS issued a violation notice to landlord for failing to remove snow, ice, and dirt from the sidewalk in front of his building. The notice stated that landlord didn't sand, salt, or shovel a path for pedestrians after it snowed. Landlord claimed that no snow removal was needed because there was no sidewalk at the location cited. The ALJ ruled against landlord and fined him $100. Landlord appealed and won, based on resubmitted photographs showing a shoveled front sidewalk and a snow-covered side area.
