Landlord Proved Cost of Pointing Work

LVT Number: 14787

Landlord applied for MCI rent hikes based on pointing work. The DRA ruled for landlord in part by granting rent increases for only $28,850 of the claimed $80,000 cost. Landlord appealed, arguing that some canceled checks for the work were lost or unavailable from landlord's accountant and that landlord had submitted a contractor's affidavit confirming that he had paid in full for the MCI. The DHCR ruled for landlord. Landlord had submitted acceptable proof of payment of the full claimed cost of the pointing work.
