Landlord Proved Cost of Electrical Work

LVT Number: 14442

Tenants complained of a rent overcharge. The DRA ruled for tenants, and landlord appealed. Landlord claimed that it should have been granted a 1/40th increase for electrical work done in the apartment. The DRA had ruled that there was insufficient proof of the cost of the work. The DHCR ruled for landlord. The electrician's invoice was stamped ''paid'' by landlord, not by the electrician. But an inspecting contractor submitted a sworn statement confirming that the work was done.
