Landlord Not Liable for Shooting in Parking Garage

LVT Number: 13185

Tenant sued landlord and its managing agent after being shot in the building's parking garage by a parking lot employee. Landlord claimed it wasn't responsible and asked the court to dismiss the case against it and the managing agent. The court ruled against landlord, and landlord appealed and won. The garage was run by a garage operator that rented the space. Landlord and its managing agent had no control over the garage and so weren't responsible for tenant's injuries.
