Landlord Needn't Install Outlet in Every Room
LVT Number: 16650
(Decision submitted by Beth Cohen of the Manhattan law firm of Rosenberg & Estis, PC, attorneys for the landlord.) Landlord applied for an MCI rent hike based on rewiring. The DRA ruled for landlord. Tenants appealed, claiming that landlord didn't install electric outlets in the second bedroom in the ''C'' line of apartments. The DHCR ruled against tenants. Landlord wasn't required to install an outlet in every room for the rewiring to qualify as an MCI.
