Landlord Must Give Renewal Lease to Corporate Tenant

LVT Number: 15098

Landlord refused to renew the rent-stabilized lease of corporate tenant and sued to evict tenant after the lease ended. Tenant claimed that it was entitled to a lease renewal. The court ruled for tenant and dismissed the case. Landlord appealed and lost. The lease named an individual and his family members as being entitled to occupy the apartment. The original individual still lived in the apartment and so was entitled to a renewal lease. The named family members also would be entitled to a renewal.
