Landlord Intends to Demolish Building

Landlord asked the DHCR for permission not to renew tenants' leases. Landlord said it intended to demolish the building and construct a new one. The DRA ruled for landlord. Tenants appealed and lost. Tenants didn't dispute landlord's intent to demolish the building. And tenants didn't dispute that landlord had the financial ability to do so. Landlord's demolition plans had been approved by DOB. Landlord met all of the requirements of Rent Stabilization Code Section 2524.5(a)(2) for approval of a demolition application.
