Landlord Gets Two Months' Rent

Landlord sued for back rent when tenant moved out. The court ruled against landlord, and landlord appealed. The appeals court reversed and ruled for landlord. Tenant was a month-to-month tenant under an oral lease. Tenant gave notice that he was moving out in November 1991; this terminated the tenancy as of Dec. 31, 1991. Landlord therefore was entitled to collect rent for those two months.
