Landlord Fined for Sprinkler System Violations

The Fire Department issued three violation notices to landlord for failing to maintain or produce sprinkler system records at the building, failing to maintain or provide required sprinkler system notices, and failing to obtain and/or produce a required certificate of fitness for a person on the premises. Landlord claimed that she immediately correct two of the violations while the issuing officer was still at the building. And she produced a certificate at the hearing. Still, the ALJ fined landlord $1,025 in mitigated penalties. Landlord appealed and lost.
