Landlord Fined for Illegal Gas Supply to Laundry Room

DOB issued violation notices to landlord for supplying gas to a building without DOB inspection and certification and for maintaining the building in an unsafe condition. DOB's inspector found four illegal gas dryers in the building basement and an open gas valve without any notice of a plumbing inspection. The ALJ fined landlord $6,000. Landlord appealed and lost, except that one violation based on stove flex connectors was dismissed since there was no proof that these were illegal. Otherwise, ECB upheld the violations.
