Landlord Didn't Prove Building Would Be Demolished

LVT Number: 18940

Landlord asked the DHCR for permission to evict one remaining rent-stabilized tenant to demolish building. The DRA ruled against landlord. After holding a hearing, the DRA found that landlord didn't prove that it really intended to demolish the building. Landlord appealed and lost. The papers landlord filed with DOB, along with testimony of landlord's own witnesses, showed that landlord's plan didn't call for a gutting of the entire interior of the building.
