Landlord Didn't Have Cerfified Multiple Dwelling Registration Statement

LVT Number: 9899

Landlord sued to evict tenant for nonpayment of rent. The court dismissed the case because the multiple dwelling registration (MDR) statement submitted by landlord in court wasn't certified. Landlord appealed and submitted a certified MDR statement. The appeals court ruled against landlord. The registration number was imprinted on the MDR statement after the date the case was dismissed. Since there was no effective registration statement on file with the office of code enforcement when landlord started the eviction proceeding, it was proper to dismiss the case.
