Landlord Didn't Conduct Timely Sprinkler System Test

LVT Number: #27469

The Fire Department issued a violation notice to landlord for failing to arrange and conduct a five-year hydrostatic pressure test of the building’s sprinkler system. Landlord claimed that the test wasn’t due yet. The ALJ ruled against landlord and fined it $1,500. Landlord appealed and lost. ECB didn’t agree with landlord that, because a test had been performed at the adjoining building, the system for the subject building had been tested. The buildings are separate.
