Landlord Didn't Certify Condition Correction

DOB issued a violation notice to landlord for failing to file a certificate of correction of a prior violation based on an illegal basement apartment. Landlord claimed that she was working on correcting the violation. The ALJ still fined landlord $800. Landlord appealed and lost. Landlord’s efforts weren’t sufficient and inability to pay is not a reason to revoke the violation. Landlord was required to file a certificate of correction by a certain date and failed to do so.
