Landlord Didn't Attach Registration Receipt to Petition

LVT Number: 9590

Landlord sued to evict tenant. Tenant asked the court to dismiss the case, claiming that landlord's petition was defective. The petition set forth the multiple dwelling registration number and stated that there was a currently effective registration statement on file with HPD. But landlord didn't attach a copy of the registration to its petition. The housing maintenance code requires that this be done. The court ruled that this was a minor, correctable error. Landlord's petition didn't have to be dismissed for this reason.
