Landlord Corrected Elevator Violations

LVT Number: 10067

Tenants complained of a reduction in building-wide services. Among other things, tenants said there were problems with the elevator. The DRA inspector didn't look at the elevator. But based on a computer printout of DOB violations, the DRA found a reduction in services and reduced tenants' rents. Landlord appealed. The DHCR ruled for landlord and revoked the rent reductions. It is DHCR policy to rely on DOB's expertise in determining elevator deficiencies.
