Landlord Can Evict Verbally Abusive Tenant with Menacing Dogs

LVT Number: #20441

Landlord sued to evict long-term rent-stabilized tenant for creating a nuisance. The court ruled for landlord after a trial. Tenant appealed and lost. There was ample proof that tenant's conduct over a six-year period was out of control. Many tenants and building employees testified that tenant was confrontational, verbally abusive, provoked arguments, and cursed at occupants and employees. Tenant also allowed her dogs to jump at people even when the dogs looked like they would bite. And on at least two occasions, the police were called to the building.
