Landlord Can Add Cotenant to Eviction Proceeding

LVT Number: 19347

Landlord, a bank, sued to evict tenant after taking over the building through a foreclosure. Landlord named one tenant and otherwise named only ``Jane Doe'' as an additional occupant. Tenants asked the court to dismiss the case. They claimed that there was a cotenant and that landlord could have gotten her name from prior court proceedings. The court ruled against tenants and gave landlord 10 days to add cotenant as a named party to the eviction proceeding.
