Handyman Service Restored

LVT Number: 6885

(Decision submitted by Jeffrey Turkel of the Manhattan law firm of Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., attorneys for the landlord.) Tenants complained of a reduction in building-wide services. The DRA reduced tenants' rents and directed landlord to supply certain services, including handyman service. Landlord subsequently filed an application to restore the rent, stating that it had restored all services. The DRA granted landlord's application, and tenants appealed. They claimed that there was no handyman available on weekends. The DHCR denied tenants' PAR.

Landlord subsequently filed an application to restore the rent, stating that it had restored all services. The DRA granted landlord's application, and tenants appealed. They claimed that there was no handyman available on weekends. The DHCR denied tenants' PAR. The DRA directed landlord to restore ``handyman service.'' It didn't specify the hours or days that a handyman must be available. Landlord now employed a handyman five days a week. This is sufficient.
