Grandson of Tenant in Co-op Can't Get Apartment

Landlord sued to evict tenant's grandson after tenant died. Grandson claimed he'd lived in the apartment with tenant for 30 years and that he was entitled to pass-on rights. The court ruled for landlord. Landlord was a not-for-profit housing development fund corporation. Tenant didn't buy apartment when the building converted to cooperative ownership and remained as month-to-month tenant. Tenant wasn't subject to rent stabilization in this type of building and grandson didn't become a tenant upon tenant's death.
