Exterior Consultant Work Included

Landlord applied for MCI rent hikes based on a number of improvements. The DRA ruled for landlord but disallowed some of the claimed cost for exterior consultant work. Landlord appealed. The DHCR ruled for landlord in part. Landlord claimed that this work cost $68,000. But landlord's canceled checks added up to only $41,000. The DRA had allowed rent increases based on a cost of $21,000. The DHCR increased the amount to the $41,000 supported by the canceled checks.
