Entrance Door Sticks Slightly to Floor

LVT Number: 11105

Tenant complained of a reduction in services. The DRA ruled for tenant and reduced her rent. Landlord appealed. Tenant's original complaint claimed that glass was missing from the entrance door and that the door didn't work properly. The DRA found that the door was out of alignment. Landlord claimed this wasn't true. The DHCR ruled for landlord. Review of the DRA's records showed that the inspector found no glass missing but that the door ''sticks slightly with the floor.'' This was a minor condition that didn't warrant a rent reduction.

This was a minor condition that didn't warrant a rent reduction. There was no finding that the door couldn't open and close properly or otherwise didn't function properly. This condition was removed from the list of conditions for which the rent reduction was granted.
