Engineers Not Responsible for Water Damage to Apartment

LVT Number: #19547

Condominium unit owner sued landlord condominium manager for negligence after water infiltration damaged her apartment. Landlord, in turn, sued its structural design engineers. The engineers asked the court to dismiss the case against them. The court ruled for the engineers. Landlord appealed and lost. A report prepared by a new engineer hired by landlord to review the case gave no proof that the design engineers caused any defect that resulted in the water infiltration.
