Elevator Violation Was Cured

LVT Number: #22777

Tenants complained of a reduction in building-wide services. They claimed that the elevator wasn't working properly and that there had been a number of DOB violations placed on it. The DRA ruled against tenants after inspection. Two tenants appealed and lost. Tenants pointed to a September 2009 elevator violation issued by DOB. But the DHCR inspected the elevator in October 2009 and found that it was going up and down properly with no defects. In addition, 19 of the tenants who had signed the complaint signed letters withdrawing their complaints.
