Elevator Didn't Level Properly

LVT Number: #22643

Tenants complained of a reduction in building-wide services based on elevator problems. The DRA ruled for tenants and reduced their rents because the elevator didn’t level properly. Landlord appealed, claiming that this was a minor condition that didn’t affect the use of the elevator. The DHCR ruled against landlord. The DHCR inspection showed that the elevator didn’t stop level by about one inch on the first through sixth floors, as well as in the basement. This was a tripping hazard.
