Doorman Service Reduced

LVT Number: 14397

Tenants complained of a reduction in services when landlord replaced doormen with security guards. The DRA ruled for tenants and reduced their rents. Landlord appealed and lost. There had been a hearing, and the agency found that the security guards were inexperienced, untrained people who didn't provide the doorman services previously given to tenants. Tenants reported repeated failures of the security guards to open doors, help tenants with packages and luggage, or deliver packages held at the front desk. Contrary to landlord's claim, this wasn't a minor change in services.
