Court Orders Extermination of Rodents

LVT Number: 15573

Tenant sued landlord and asked the court for emergency relief from rat infestation in her apartment. Landlord claimed that the court couldn't order repairs without an inspection report that placed violations on the building. The court ruled for tenant and placed a C violation on the apartment. Tenant showed enough proof that the rats were there. And city law authorized the court to use any remedy to protect the public interest.
