LVT Number: #31789

Landlord sued to evict tenants for nonpayment of rent. The parties settled the case in court. Landlord discontinued the nonpayment claim and agreed to make repairs in the apartment. Tenants later asked the court to hold landlord in contempt for failing to make repairs. The court ruled for tenants, held landlord in civil  contempt, and entered a judgment for $5,000 in each tenant's favor. HPD inspection records confirmed that the apartment had leaks from the roof, collapsed ceilings, and mold, among other things.
