Complaint About Boiler Referred to DOB

LVT Number: 11898

Tenants complained of a reduction in building-wide services, claiming that the boiler was defective and not registered. The DRA dismissed tenants' complaints and advised them to complain to DOB. Tenants appealed and lost. The New York City Building Code requires landlord to file an annual boiler statement with the city. DOB is the city agency authorized to enforce the building code, inspect boilers, and issue boiler permits and violations. So tenants should go to DOB with their boiler complaint.
