Basement Storage Space Is Required Service

LVT Number: 13294

Tenants complained of a reduction in building-wide services, claiming that landlord had stopped providing basement storage space. Landlord claimed there was no storage space and that this wasn't a required service. The DHCR ruled for tenants, and landlord appealed. The court and appeals court ruled against landlord. The DHCR's findings were reasonable. Tenants stated there had been storage bins in the basement. An inspection report and photographs confirmed their claims.
