Attorney's Fees to Landlord Upheld

LVT Number: 14265

Landlord sued to evict tenant. The court ruled for landlord, and landlord asked for an award of attorney's fees. The court ordered a hearing on the issue of the amount of attorney's fees landlord should get. Tenant's attorney asked that the hearing be delayed so that tenant could be present. The court refused and held the hearing. Tenant appealed and lost. Tenant himself didn't need to be there for the attorney's fees hearing. His attorney was present, and the issue of how much attorney's fees should be paid to landlord didn't require any information from tenant.
